The Cedar Mill Fine Firearms Pick & Pluck Pistol Case is a TSA-compliant hard-sided handgun case available in two foam configurations - Pick and Pluck or EPE (Expanded Polyethylene) - and eight color variants. It stores, transports, and protects full-size to compact pistols without requiring tools to create a custom fit.

Pick & Pluck Foam vs. EPE Foam - Which Do You Need?

Pick and Pluck Foam is a pre-scored grid foam insert divided into a matrix of small cubes, each of which can be pulled out by hand with no cutting tools required. Remove cubes to trace the exact outline of your pistol - frame, barrel, slide, suppressor-equipped or standard. The resulting cavity is custom-fitted to your specific firearm and holds it without shifting in transit. Compatible pistol examples include: Glock 17 (full-size), Glock 19 (compact), 1911-pattern pistols, Springfield Armory XD series, and Smith & Wesson M&P full-size and compact.

EPE Foam (Expanded Polyethylene) is a solid, un-scored closed-cell foam block. It provides excellent shock attenuation and moisture resistance but requires a blade or foam cutter to shape a custom cavity. EPE is the correct choice for maximum foam integrity during long-term storage or when cutting to an unusual pistol profile.

TSA Compliance for Air Travel

This case is hard-sided and lockable, satisfying the 49 CFR §1540.111 requirement for firearms in checked baggage. Declared unloaded firearms must be placed in this locked case and checked at the airline counter - this case meets that requirement.
